4. and 5.3. Resting days in the Hillside Retreat and departure home.

A quiet day after the safari, used for recreration, an the day of departure.

4.3.2021: Early in the morning a view to Mount Meru, a bit wrapped in clouds today.

Mount Meru

Passion fruit plant in the garden

Mt. Meru is now free.

The "Hillside retreat" - a guesthouse inmidst a garden with bushes and trees

Achiote (Bixa orellana) in front of the house, with a few flowers ...

 ... and fruits in abundance.

5.3.2021: Before breakfast, I am picked up by a local guide to near two hours of morning nature walk, directly above the last houses of Momella, at the border of the Arusha national park. Here, we must not walk further, so we divert to the right.

The orphanage of Africa Amini Alama.

We preceed our walk a bit to the Ngare Nanjuki river, which is all over the year supplied by fresh water from the mountain rain forests of Mount Meru.

The kids of Momella have to cross this very simple bridge evera day when walkiing to school - some of them walk for several km.

Lots of water in Ngare Nanjuki River too.

Mount Meru

The catholic church of Momella ...

... and the protestant one, whoch is a bit bigger. The majority of the christian population is protestant in this area.

Passing house gardens, we walk back to the Hillside retreat.

After 2 hours of drive (with a short detour to the fruit market in Boma Ngombe) I enter the plane to Addis Abeba.

Once more, Kilimandscharo is wrapped in clouds.
