25.2. Morning in the Sinya Conservatory and first day to Mt. Longido.
After a good breakfast, we drive back to the Sinya - Gate, where o wir rechts abbiegen nach Longido town, einer Stadt am Fuße des Mount Longido.
Before breakfast, we walk the hill to see the sunrise. To the left of Kilimandscharo, the sky gets ret above Kenya.
Puddles have formed in Kenya too, now reflecting the morning light.
Clouds now coming in from Kenya´s Amboseli National park, and the magic is over in a few minutes, so we walk down soon.
After a long drive through the Sinya Reservate and to Longido town, we pick up the local guide and the porter at the local Walking-guide company, and drive around the mountainto its other side.
Here, the summit of Longido looks especially prominent. As opposed to other surrounding volcanic mountains, Longido is a granite rock.
No more driving from this place.
Deeply washed-out path after the rain.
We start with a flat walk along the foot of the mountain.
Inquisitive Maasai kids.
The whole mountain is built up from granite or Gneiss, with exposed bumps, but good to walk over.
We walk up a steep slope, overgrown bushes ...
... to a first, low saddle.

... to the only "official" campsite, at about 1.630 m asl. We put up our tents here.
1.000 m ascent to the summit - tomorro´s walk will be strenuous, in a steep area like this.
