Saubersdorfer Felder - Föhnstimmung und Abendrot 4.12.2020

My daughter Marlene has an exam for her study in technical physics, during the Corona - Lockdown held online from home. Due to multiple safety precautions against fudging, she chased everybody away from the house. So, I start a walk with the dogs at 2:30 p.m., to the fields near Saubersdorf.

I am not sure, if I would have verntured out on a cloudy day like this, but at least the clouds look a bit interesting.

Fön clouds - despite behing rather cool here with no wind. It seems that the foen wind doesn´t make it down to the plain.

First tiny sunny spells at the Gesanger Bühel, the hill with the tranponder ...

... and a bit of sunshine a short leg further.

View back to Winzendorf

A bit of a haze in the valley, wheras the foen produces lenticular clouds above Schneeberg. A rare combination.

Bella and Luca are in a good temper.

Schneeberg through the valley mist.

The sun is more and more standing up to the clouds, so it could be a nice sunset. I decide to stay and walk a bit around and wait.

Getting sunny more and more.

Tractor spoors make for an intersting pattern in the snow.

The sun is sinking deeper now.

I´m walking to the sunny area.

Long shadow from myself too.

Awaiting an evening red, I walk a bit farther.

And indees, a weak glow starts to illuminate the clouds, yellow at first - the clouds are illuminated from below, but the sun isn´t sunken yet.

The gloom increases.

The sun is completely down now.

The colour of the cloud, now illuminated by a very deep sun, is now gradually changing to orange, and red at last.

These are the most beautiful minutes of the day, only a few.

Schneeberg looks like illuminated too - it seems the mountain gets some additional light reflected by the illuminated clouds.

Now it starts ...

 ... to get darker.

Red is dominating in the end, a few minutes later it is all over. The way back is done at maximal speed, because I am rather cold now, and the same is true to the dogs.
