Puntamika Laterna (Zadar) 9.-15.8.2018
Friends have renovated an old lighthouse near Zadar to make wonderful holiday accomodations. As it was so beautiful there, and only city and dried land around, this time, I did not move away from there (except twice for dinner in the city) So, there are only pictures from the house and the surrounding place, but I hope they are beautiful enough.
At our arrival, we are expected by a wonderful area with garden, house, lighthouse and beach.

Next morning ... the exit from the garden to the beach ... a few metres only.
All in all, 8 fig trees are growing in the garden, all full with ripe (and unripe) figs.

Sea fennel (Crithmum maritimum) is growing in small gaps of the wall.
The fig trees get so much water from the automatic watering system of the lawn, that some of them are bursted.

For the photographers: This picture was taken with closed aperture (13,0), Iso 100 and 4 seconds exposure time ...
... whereas this one with open aperture (2,8), Iso 800 and 1/30 second. Choose the one you prefer.

A lazy day is forecast ...
The other day, a huge thunderstorm is approaching from southeast, advertising itself with storm gusts. IŽd liked to take a picture of the couds drawing in from Biograd and Zadar from the end of the jetty ...
... but this is not advisable with waves like these.
I would have got drenched.
In the meantime, we got heavy rain for about 30 minutes, with flashes aud thunder, followed by another 1 1/2 hours of light rain. In the afternoon, the spook is over, but it is much cooler than the days before at this time of the day.
I watch the thunderclouds moving away.
Another nice evening. Marco has organized a cook who prepares a fine barbecue dinner for us, including Croatian specials.
During the rain, the pool was covered with waterproof foil.
Next morinng ...
... we are preparing for the home journey, not without plucking a bag of figs to make a yummy fig jam at home.
The boat was stored savely outside due to the storm - of course we helped Marco removing it.
