Kienberg 9.1.2014

This morning, I only have shot time for a walk. Dense ground fog covers Winzendorf. However, the webcam www.Schneeberg.tv shows me, that the summit of the Kienberg is free. So, this is my goal for today.

At the upper outskirt od the forest, the mist also has its upper "outskirt", and the sun breaks through ...

... giving way to the view to the Wechsel  ...

 ... and to Schneeberg.

Bucklige Welt behind the fog.

Light pine forest shortly beneath the summit of Kienberg ...

... and now the view from the summit to Schneeberg

Schneeberg, far right the "Gländ"

The northeastern part of Hohe Wand.

Now I descend along the rocky ridge of Kienberg heading for Zweiersdorf, to turn left afterwards to cross the Kienbergwiese.

Another panoramic view, this time a bit wider. Click here or into the picture for a larger display.

The mist is undulating a bit upwards now.

This is the ridge I went down ...

 ... towards the mist.

Hohe Wand

The neighbouring mountain of the Kienberg is the Zweiberg, seen here in a short panorama. Click here or into the picture for a larger display.

More and more I dip into the mist.

Not yet now.

"Umbrella" - pines on the ridge.

The small grassland on the saddle between Kienberg and Zweiberg, called "Kienbergwiese", now dipping into the mist.

Is this mist or is it moisture evaporating from the grass?

Maybe both, I reckon. The descent is short now, after 15 minutes I enter my car, after about 1 1/2 hours´ walk.
