Finken house and Zweiwiese 21.4.2020

After several weeks of intensive gardening (all hedgerows cut far down) once more on a nature walk with Lucy - Starting from the road between Bad Fischau and Dreistetten, I walk a long a small limestone quarry up a steep grassy slope heading for the closed Finken haus, but branch off to the left to the large grassland, walk to the Hoffmanns cave and a bit in direction Wöllersdorf.

Greater Stitchwort (Stellaria holostea) in abundance at my first steps into the forest.

Nice view from the rocks to Hohe Wand ...

 ... and to Schneeberg.

A small glimpse to the Vienna´s plain.

Hohe Wand from a bit more up, near the "Linsbauerfelsen".

Wallflower (Erysimum sylvestre) in the rocky dry grassland.

Inside the forest coralroot (Cardamine bulbifera).

At the border of the large grassland Spotted dead-nettle (Lamium maculatum) ...

...  with a single albino exemplar.

A single flowrishing cherry tree in the grassland.

Common bugle (Ajuga reptans)

On a shady steep slope heading for the Hoffmanns cave, ramson (Allium ursinum) in abundance.

Ramson (Allium ursinum)

Ramson (Allium ursinum)

A whole slope with ramson.

After a bit of exploration (due to having branched off from the path for ramson pictures) I finally find the Hoffmanns cave - only a small hole in the rocks, ...

... a shelter during a thunderstorm at its best.

I walk further to the Zweiwiese

It is very dry this year, so only a few Green winged orchids (Orchis morio) can be seen - the pictures not sharp, so this is a picture from 2018 in this place.

A few Spring Gentians (Gentiana verna)

View back to the Zweiwiese from my further walk heading for Wöllersdorf, a nice shady gravel road inside forest, but with only a few not very spectacular views. At the branching to the "Teufelsmühlstein" I turn back. The cause for this walk, after 5 weeks of Coronavirus-caused self isolation with gardening: Lucy seems a bit lost, because all attention is now payed to Bella, who ...

... has delivered four healthy, lively puppies last night (and therefore stayed home of course).
