Flowers and Fields Bad Fischau 12.6.2020

A short mountain bike ride so see the lizard orchids in flower.

After a short ride this wonderful oilseed rape field in full flower. The farmer seems to have seeded later, usually I see the flowrishing rape fields during April.

Grain has now grown (relatively) high - after the long dry period in April it seems to have recovered due to last weeks´ rain.

I find the flowers on the aquaeduct dam, as many times before: adriatic lizard orchid (Himantoglossum adriaticum)

In a few small places, the adriatic lizard orchids (Himantoglossum adriaticum)is growing here in abundance.

A bit further on the dam, where I found them much earlier than on the place before, are nice exemplars.

Adriatische Riemenzunge (Himantoglossum adriaticum)

Some of them are rather tiny, with only a few flowers. This can be seen every year, but this year I got the impression that the small ones are more frequent.

This adriatic lizard orchid (Himantoglossum adriaticum) is growing inside the forest above the lily meadow.

... and these on the slope abive.

A bit further. I did a short detour into the forest heading for the Eisenstein cave. I did not fine the red helleborine however, it seems that these few have been the victims of the long dryness.

I saw the blue colour from afar, so had to ride near.

Corn flowers now in full flower.

Chamomiles are dominating the area a bit further.

On the ride home, back at the rape field.
