8.6.2019: Bad Ischl and Schwarzensee.

As it is cloudy today, we drive to Bad Ischl for a short stroll in the town.

The river Traun is full with meltwater, like the Ödensee.

My girls, the old post office in the background, in "Schönbrunn - yellow" as many of the old buildings here.

Afterwards, we drive in direction St. Wolfgang, but branch off early to the right and head for the Schwarzensee, a small mountain lake in direction to the Attersee. Meadows in flower.

Schwarzensee.

The kids stay near the inn, and I walk along the lake with Susi. Western marsh orchid (Dactylorhiza majalis) on the meadow near the camping ground.

Dark water - the lake is living up to its name ("schwarz" means black).

At the head of the lake, we continue our walk til this grass area, called "Bachelalm". Wet grassland with cotton grass, ...

... western marsh orchids (Dactylorhiza majalis)

 ... and bistort.

Flooded grass back at the lake.

Klara has tested the ocarina, which she bought at potter´s market in Bad Ischl, and plays her first melodies.

A good day for the dogs.

Walking back to the car.

In the evening, on the roof terrace of the "Wasnerin", the clouds start to dissolve, and uncover the view  ...

 ... to the Dachstein.
